I type, hit the backspace once… then type a few more words, before my index finger reaches for the backspace again. I've made several attempts to write about myself – but nothing materialises. My thoughts go blank, I space out, and I daydream a little, reassuring myself that there is something potentially interesting and unique I can say about myself. I'm probably as interesting as a refrigerator – but hey, refrigerators can be pretty interesting if you observe them long enough. Some of the modern ones even have internet connectivity.
I am Malaysian-Chinese, raised in the city of Kuala Lumpur – a melting pot of cultures, ethnicities, sights and sounds. Our country isn't very good with finding missing aircraft, but you probably already knew that. But that's okay. The multi-ethnic culture that we live in makes us understand and respect each other's diversities. And squabble about where the best Chinese fried rice is, and spend hours over food debating the best way to run the country.
